Townsville BLUEWATER Fishing Charters

Tropical Townsville, NQ, is the perfect destination to embark upon your next bluewater or reef fishing charter.
Tasty species including red emperor, coral trout, sweetlip and golden snapper abound at inshore reef and shoal hotspots. Meanwhile, favourites including Spanish mackerel and cobia are rarely far away.

Townsville’s bluewater sport fishing charter options also abound with GT or giant trevally, diamond and golden trevally, longtail tuna, broad barred mackerel, cobia and queenfish proving favourites with many anglers.

And why not try your hand at catching a black marlin or sailfish? Bowling Green Bay to the east of Townsville is well-known as a first-class billfish destination.

And barramundi! They’re not only prolific in Townsville’s creeks and rivers – they also love hanging out in shallow inshore waters like those within Cleveland and Halifax Bays. Barramundi are always a real possibility when undertaking a bluewater or reef fishing charter with Fish City Charters.

Sometimes you can do both in the same day – catch a Spanish mackerel, coral trout or GT and then find barramundi on the way home – or vice versa!

Use proven techniques like jigging, trolling, high-speed spinning and live-baiting to fool any number of reef and bluewater fish when on a Fish City Townsville fishing charter.

That exhilarating moment when an enormous GT engulfs your popper or a Spanish mackerel spears skywards while striking your lure – it’s all just one cast away when you fish within Townsville waters.

Perhaps watching a big red fish like emperor, coral trout or nannygai materialise from the depths – or a maybe fooling a handsome bronze golden snapper with a lure is your thing… they’re all regular occurrences when you chance your casts on an inshore reef or bluewater charter in Townsville.
